Trees4Adapt project officially launched

The Trees4Adapt project has officially started, bringing together partners from across Europe to explore how tree-based solutions can help address the mounting challenges posed by climate change and biodiversity loss. Over the next four years, the project will combine long-term ecological research, real-world case studies, economic analyses and Europewide modelling to build a clearer understanding of how different approaches perform and where they can be most effective. From testing forest diversification in Finland to agroforestry in Germany and postfire recovery strategies in Portugal, the project aims to generate practical, evidence based insights that can be used by land managers, policymakers and communities.

Trees4Adapt was launched with a press release in January introducing its aims, partners and scientific approach. The release also highlighted the project’s contribution to the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, which supports regions and local authorities in strengthening their resilience.
