TerraTwin
TerraTwin is an EU‑funded Horizon Europe project developing an integrated digital twin of Earth systems to better understand the interplay between climate change and biodiversity loss. By combining data across land, ocean and atmosphere, the project creates dynamic simulations of how ecosystems respond to environmental change. These tools allow researchers and decision‑makers to assess impacts on species, habitats and socio‑economic systems under different climate scenarios. Through this approach, TerraTwin supports evidence‑based policymaking and helps strengthen Europe’s capacity to protect biodiversity in a changing climate.
TerraTwin and Trees4Adapt projects are actively collaborating and were founded under the same topic: Research the complex interplay between the climate and biodiversity crises towards more systemic approaches and solutions.
